During high school, Nathan contributed academically to his school by aiding in victories in the debate club, mathematics club, and science club. Upon graduation from high school, Nathan enrolled at Augusta University and began studying chemistry although he eventually found that his true academic passion was in physics. During university, Nathan completed two internships: one with the Savanah River Nuclear Scholars Program (SRNSP) funded by the US Department of Energy (DOE) as well as one at the Fortune 500 company Automatic Data Processing (ADP). In addition, Nathan was involved in undergraduate research working with nuclear imaging technicians and cardiologists to design a more accurate method of detecting heart disease. He completed his thesis on this research and his work was accepted by the Honors board and bound and published by the university.
Nathan graduated in December 2016 with an Honors Bachelors of Science majoring in nuclear physics and minoring in mathematics. After graduating he decided he wanted to experience more of the world before deciding on a country to settle down in. While living overseas, he rekindled his passion with education and has taught physics, chemistry, and calculus in Shanghai. Now he is excited to teach new students and see what Chengdu has to offer!
